RideUnity Community Guidelines

At RideUnity, We ensure that everyone using Our Application stays safe and treats each other in a respectful manner.

1) Overview of our Community Guidelines

1-1 Purpose

Our Community Guidelines are important policies that everyone using Our Platform shall follow. They are designed to keep Our Carpooling Community safe and friendly. By agreeing on these Guidelines, you help create an environment where everyone feels respected and secure. These Guidelines ensure that everyone understands how to behave responsibly while using Our Platform. Together, We can build a positive Community where people can share Rides confidently and enjoyably.

1-2 Agreement

By using Our Platform, you agree to adhere to these Community Guidelines, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all users. From verification processes to behavioral expectations, these rules aim to foster trust and cooperation among Drivers and Passengers. Let's work together to create a supportive environment where everyone can benefit from sustainable transportation practices with confidence.

2) General Code of Conduct and Safety

At RideUnity, Users are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that promotes safety, respect, and responsible behavior. We believe that a positive and enjoyable Carpooling experience begins with respectful and kind interactions between all Users. We expect everyone—whether Drivers or Passengers—to treat each other with courtesy and empathy, fostering a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Respectful behavior includes listening actively, communicating politely, and considering the needs and feelings of others. Honesty and authenticity are also crucial. Misleading or deceptive behavior undermines trust and disrupts the harmony of our community. By applying these principles, you help create a welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy the Carpooling experience with confidence and ease. Remember, Your conduct directly influences the overall quality of our Service and the well-being of fellow Users.

Users must not engage in any form of discrimination, harassment, violence, or behavior that violates the privacy of other Users. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Discrimination against individuals based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected under relevant law.

  • Harassing or threatening behavior towards others.

  • Engaging in any form of violence, whether physical or verbal.

  • Violating the privacy rights of other Members by sharing personal information without consent.

  • Bringing drugs and alcohols on the ride or driving while being intoxicated.

  • Account sharing, meaning letting someone other than the verified user use the same account.

  • Threatening and rude behavior, such as: post-trip verbal or chatting contact, physical contact, discrimination, sexual assault and misconduct, and property damage.

We believe that everyone should feel supported and welcomed when interacting with others in the RideUnity community. That's why we've created standards and policies and here are some of the important guidelines that Users shall make sure to follow while using the Application:

  • Always be on time whether you're a driver or a passenger.

  • Respect each other and avoid rude behavior whether pre-ride contact, post-ride contact or while on the Ride.

  • As a passenger make sure you follow the Ride preferences mentioned by the driver.

3) Community Admin Code of Conduct and Safety

Community Admins serve as the main regulators of the Carpooling Community. With a variety of actions they can take, their role is critical in ensuring that the Community functions smoothly and safely. Their decisions directly impact the quality and security of the Carpooling experience for all Members. Community Admins shall carefully evaluate and select Users, ensuring that Drivers are suitable for their respective roles.

Community Admins may request additional in-person verification when necessary to ensure the integrity and safety of the Community. Users shall agree to cooperate with verification procedures as required by Community Admins to maintain a trusted environment within the Platform. Community Admins may take appropriate action on User-reported violations of Community Guidelines depending on the severity and recurrence of the violation. Community Admins are tasked with fostering a safe and respectful community environment by enforcing Community Guidelines and policies. Community Admins have the authority to add or remove Members from the Community based on adherence to these Guidelines and safety concerns, ensuring the well-being of all Members.

4) Driver Code of Conduct and Safety

As a Driver Member of our Community, your role is crucial in upholding these standards. We expect you to provide accurate Ride information, maintain a punctual and respectful demeanor, and ensure the safety and comfort of your Passengers, ensure that Passengers are dropped off at their agreed locations safely and promptly, make sure your Vehicle is working in a good condition and having its periodic maintenance done. You are obliged to follow the regulations of Your province or your state. You can rate, review or report the Passenger for any inappropriate or harmful behavior or violations done by the Passenger against you.

Drivers are expected to always adhere to safe and lawful driving practices. This includes but not limited to, obeying traffic laws, adhering to speed limits, and avoiding distractions while driving. Aggressive driving behaviors, such as tailgating, excessive speeding, or abrupt maneuvers, are strictly prohibited. The primary focus shall always be on the safety of you and all Passengers in the Vehicle. Ensuring that all Passengers are properly seated and wearing seatbelts is also a crucial aspect of responsible driving.

Drivers must have valid car insurance that covers Passenger transport. This insurance shall be adequate to cover any potential incidents or accidents that may occur while using the Vehicle for Carpooling. It is the Driver's responsibility to ensure that the insurance policy thereof is up-to-date and provides sufficient coverage as required by the Driver's province acts.

5) Passenger Code of Conduct and Safety

We strive to provide a seamless and enjoyable Carpooling experience for all Members of Our Community. As a Passenger, your cooperation and adherence to Our Community Guidelines are essential in creating a positive and respectful environment. By following these Guidelines, You contribute to the safety, comfort, and overall satisfaction of everyone involved in the Carpooling Ride. Please review the Guidelines herein to help us maintain high standards of Our Service and support a harmonious Carpooling Community.

Be sure to follow Your Driver's preferences and requirements as detailed in the Ride posting. Confirm that Driver's name, car model, color, and license plate number match the information provided by RideUnity before getting into the Vehicle. If you have any additional considerations, such as bringing pets or bags, or if you are a smoker, please inform the Driver of these details when booking the Ride.

6) Forbidden Actions

6-1 Harassment

At RideUnity, we are committed to maintaining a Community where all Members feel safe, respected, and valued. Harassment of any form - whether verbal, physical, or digital - is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to, unwelcome comments, threats, intimidation, or any behavior that creates a hostile environment for others. All Users, including Drivers and Passengers, must treat each other with dignity and respect, ensuring that interactions remain courteous and professional. Any behavior that constitutes harassment will be met with serious consequences, including potential suspension or removal from Platform.

6-2 Hate Speech

At RideUnity, we are dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all Members of our Carpooling Community. Hate speech, including any language or behavior that discriminates against, belittles, or threatens individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic, is strictly prohibited. Such behavior undermines the values of respect and equality that we uphold and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. All Users are expected to engage with one another in a respectful and considerate manner.

7) Reporting Issues

If any problems arise or if there are concerns or violations of this Community Guidelines, it is important to report these issues promptly to help maintaining a safe and respectful Community. To report a problem, please use RideUnity's webform available through our Platform. Provide detailed information about the issue, including any relevant documentation or evidence, to help us understand and address the situation effectively.

8) Resolution Process

Once a form reporting an issue is submitted, our team will initiate a thorough review of the issue. This process involves gathering information from the parties involved and assessing the situation based on our Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and our User Feedback System. We may reach out to you for additional details or clarification as part of our resolution process. Our goal is to resolve issues arising from using our Service fairly and efficiently in accordance with our policies, ensuring that all Users' perspectives are considered.

Based on the findings of our review of the issue, we make a decision regarding the appropriate action. This may include issuing warnings, imposing temporary suspensions, or taking more serious measures such as permanent removal from the Platform if necessary.

RideUnity takes actions within the control thereof and in accordance with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. The maximum extent of our response can be compensation or charges in accordance with our policies, account permanent suspension based on the report and the evidence submitted. It's important to mention that it's outside our control to investigate a crime or handle it with the police, it's the users' responsibility to take such procedures to claim their rights. The cases of disputes which may need investigation are outside our control.

9) Updates

RideUnity is committed to maintaining the relevance and effectiveness of our Community Guidelines. we may update or revise these Guidelines periodically to reflect changes in regulations, User feedback, or improvements in our Services. Updates will be made when necessary to address new situations or enhance User experience. Any significant changes will be carefully considered to ensure they align with our commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable Carpooling environment.

10) Notification

When updates or revisions to the Guidelines are made, Users will be notified. Notifications may include emails, in-app messages, or announcements on our Website. We strive to ensure that all Users are aware of changes in a timely manner. It is the responsibility of each User to review the updated Guidelines regularly to stay informed about any modifications that may affect their use of our Service.
